"And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent" John 17:3

Many Christians espouse the belief that to be saved one must simply believe that Jesus is Lord , that he died for our sins and that he was risen from the cross. Clearly this is incorrect.



I do not pretend to be a biblical scholar, yet all my research leads me to the conclusion that those that are biblical scholars appear to agree with my interpretation of this scripture. Namely, that the only way to have or attain "life eternal" is to "know" God.

This means that it is simply not enough to believe on Christ. One must know, as Jesus the man knew, God. Jesus was the Christ.

"For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many bretheren." Romans 9:29

Jesus was that "firstborn". This passage states clearly that we are destined to become "Christed" like Jesus.
